He opened his eyes for the first time today (August 20th). We wanted
to get a picture of him and the cat together and knew that this would be
our last opportunity. Even though his eyes were opening, it would still
be a few more days before he could really see through them and we didn't
want him to ever actually see the cat. If he is to survive after release,
he must never feel at ease when he sees a cat. We had heard horror
stories of someone nearby who had raised three baby squirrels, only to have
all three killed by her cats. That will not happen here.
He's still real wobbly on his feet and falls over a lot.
He seems to enjoy getting his face washed after eating.
